Hello! My name is Mari and i am an intern at Bunnyshell.
Here’s my story with the folks here so far.
Before I started the internship at Bunnyshell, I was working as a Data Analyst in the financial field. Much of my work meant report processing and automation. But, I often felt like I won’t get to reach my highest potential doing it, even though I was enjoying it. I had always been fascinated with how things are built. That’s why I thought I could do a great job being on the technical side of things. Hearing my programmer friends talk so passionately about their work, I really wanted to know all those cool stuff they know.
That’s when i decided: “That’s it. If you want something, you’ve got to start somewhere.”
Shortly after that, I came across Bunnyshell and found they were accepting young talents for an internship program. It didn’t take long to know that this was the place for me. I mean, helping build a great piece of software I believe will help many, sounded awesome. But, when I also got the bonus of meeting this hyper-energetic and passionate bunch of people, I knew right there: “This is where it begins”.
During the internship, the folks gave me all the tools I needed to learn and grow. And, most importantly, they trusted me completely.
I had zero understanding of the logic behind algorithms, before I joined the team. I didn’t even knew how to read the documentation articles, but my colleagues were very patient. They structured all the materials, they gave me guidance and feedback. So, the learning process was smooth and enjoyable.
Since I’ve started this internship, I became familiar with lots of stuff which would have been sci-fi before.
Now, three months later, I am already building small apps. And, though they may not be anything complicated, for me, seeing them work gives me the satisfaction of going from zero to one. I couldn’t have done it without the team here. Even though they have lots on their plates already, working around the clock to make Bunnyshell the best tool out there, they always manage to find time to help and share their knowledge.
Today, I am happy to say that “You can not teach old dogs new tricks” is a saying which didn’t apply to me. I am super excited to have come across the opportunity of working here. I know it’s going to be hard, but great.
And i’m enjoying every step of the ride.
My advice for anyone who wants to follow their dreams, even if it means a shift in their carrier?
